Tees Rivers Trust - Fish For Tees Internship

Tees Rivers Trust is looking for two enthusiastic and motivated Seagrass and Oyster Interns to join our dynamic team who can work on the reintroduction of native oysters and seagrass meadows in the Tees Estuary. These posts are part of the Fish For Tees programme that has been funded by the National Lottery Green Recovery Challenge Fund. This large project will run until 31st March 2023 and the scope of works includes: marine restoration, intertidal restoration, development of an angling passport and riparian habitat improvements.

Based within Tees Rivers Trust’s small team, you will have excellent opportunities to work collaboratively within a friendly, multi-disciplinary team of conservation professionals. You will work in a mobile and agile way to deliver the aims of the project programme. Main objectives of the team include:

Recreation of estuarine habitat through trialling the restoration of native oysters and sea grass meadows.
Contributing to the design and implementation of estuarine restoration projects.
Providing training and guidance for volunteers related to field restoration work and nursery operations and assisting with running engagement events for local schools and local community groups.
The roles are full-time, fixed term contract until 31/3/23 and will be based in the North East of England. The salary is £20,000.
