John Hounslow is one of the most experienced river keepers on the Kennet. In this short video he explains how and why he cuts vegetation in the river channel.
The River Kennet is a chalkstream that rises in Wiltshire and flows through Berkshire to join the Thames at Reading. Much of the river is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It is renowned for its fish stocks and biodiversity.
